What is EOTM?

Eastsider of the Month (EOTM) is our way of shining a light on the incredible people who make Eastside Theater Company what it is. Every month, we celebrate a volunteer, parent, or community member whose behind-the-scenes dedication, creativity, and heart keep our theater family thriving. From the stage to the green room, from costumes to concessions, these are the people who make the magic happen.

Joe Berninghausen

Joe serves Eastside Theater Company as a Board Member, bringing dedication and a behind-the-scenes commitment to the growth and success of our organization. He has also lent a hand with props and steps in as an occasional photographer, helping capture the magic of our productions and the people who make them possible. But above all else, Joe will tell you that his most important role at ETC is simply being a dad, showing up, cheering from the wings, and supporting his daughter every step of the way.

About Joe

Joe has been a part of the ETC family for just over a year, and his journey began the moment his daughter was cast in her very first production. Watching her grow show after show is what drew him in and what keeps him coming back season after season.

Joe is the kind of person who does not seek the spotlight. In his own words, "I'm not big for recognition, but I'll proudly accept this one." And that humility is exactly what makes him so deserving of it. He shows up, he gives back, and he does it all with quiet dedication and genuine love for this community.

What Joe loves most about ETC is seeing all of the hard work come together into something amazing, time after time. The productions, the people, and the community that has been built here, it all means something to him.
